LEGO® Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi Death Star Final Duel 75093 Review

The LEGO Death Star Final Duel recreates Emperor Palpatine's throne room when the battle between Vader and Luke took place. It costs $79.99, measures 32X30X14 and includes 724 pieces. It comes with 5 minifigures which are: 2 Royal Guards, Luke Skywalker in his Jedi Knight outfit, Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader. I think all the minifigures are a good reputation of those from the films but Darth Vader in particular is great. He has got the type two helmet that separates in two parts making it more accurate. The weapons and accessories included are 2 Force Pikes, Luke's Lightsaber,  2 of Darth Vader's lightsaber which I'll come onto in a second, a pair of handcuffs and Palpatine's force electricity blasts. The Death Star area itself has lots of play features, none of which retract from the look. Walking in, there is a sliding door activated by pulling two tabs. Not only is this interactive but it looks good so it's a thumbs up from me. Just in front of the door is a hinged tile that, if you put a minifigure on, apparently makes them Force Jump. However, I think it looks more like someone using the force on the person being flung. Just ahead of this is a long area that can be folded out to extend or shorten the area. The next feature is small but nice. Just by the stairs is a small lever that, if pulled, breaks a couple of steps off. At the top of the stairs is Emperor Palpatine's Throne which looks good and has some nice detail. Behind all three of the platforms are printed, curved windows just like there were in the films. To the left of the throne is the platform that Luke stood on. By easily dislodging one of the supports, the entire thing collapses. To the right of the throne is the tunnel to the reactor core where Palpatine was thrown. There is not much play value here but there are some stickers on the inside which give it a nice look. Finally, behind the throne, there is a hole that the spare lightsaber slots in. By flicking a switch behind the model, the thing hops out to give the illusion that Vader is using the force. Overall, I think this is a great set for both young and old as it supplies for both. I like the new Darth Vader a lot and the others are also fantastic. Good job LEGO.
