LEGO® Technic Mercedes Benz Arocs 3245 42043 Review

The LEGO Arocs is the largest Technic set of all time. It costs $229.99 and includes 2793 pieces making it about 8.2 cents per piece and even includes a battery box, motor and hydraulics system. Lots of the pieces in this set are new and exclusive. When built, it measures a huge 54X14X31cm and is really solid. This model looks fantastic. From the wheels to the crane to the back, I love it all. My favourite part, though, is the front with the number plate, grill and printed Mercedes logo. This is also stuffed to the brim with functions. This all has suspension and the front 2 wheels angle for steering. This allows for off-road capabilities. The outriggers on either side come out and give the truck stability. The cab lifts forward to reveal a working straight 6 engine that is hooked up the the second to back wheel. The crane rotates, elevates and the hydraulics operate the scoop at the end. Finally, the back end can lift up and dump its load which, unfortunately, isn't included. All of these work well and provide a huge amount of play value. The B Model for this set is a Mercedes Benz Articulated Construction Truck. This measures a massive 75X17X28cm and looks great. It has similar functions; a working crane, steering, suspension, hydraulic claw and working six cylinder engine but doesn't come with the tipping function. However, this build does have wheel chocks and a tray with engine parts to use with the crane. In conclusion, then, this set is fantastic. It has great functions, looks fantastic and works really well. The value for money is good and the build is great. I can honestly say the only flaw is that there is no load for the A Model. This is the ultimate technic set.
