LEGO® Technic 24 Hours Racer 42039 Review

The LEGO 24 Hours Racer is a great looking Le Mans-styled car. It costs $99.99, comes with 1219 pieces and measures 39X19X16cm. First off, this set looks fantastic. I love the white and green colour scheme because it's different and looks really good. There are also lots of stickers that represent sponsors and give it that race car look. The bodywork has been done really nicely with nice shapes that look very accurate, a cool spoiler and the black wheels with thin tyres look great. The steering on this is operated by the cog on the top and the car also has independent suspension. As well as this, there are 2 other functions; opening back and gull-wing doors. Both of these are operated by the same cog and switched between via a gearbox system. They both work well and the Power Functions set can be fitted for LED lights and motor-operated functions. However, I think the motor should be included for a set of this size. Underneath the back panel that folds up is a detailed V8 engine that is operated by the rear wheels. The B-Model for this set is an interesting SUV Racer. This too looks really nice with the same colour scheme. Also similar to the main build, this set features suspension, steering and a working V8 engine. However, the other two functions in this set are and opening trunk and folding headlights that, too, are operated through a gearbox system. Overall, then, I really like this set. It looks great, is good value and has a decent amount of well-working features. The B-Model too is the same story and a very strong build. My only concern would be that there is no motor which is odd for a set of this size but this doesn't stop me from loving it.
