The LEGO Haunted Lighthouse is the second biggest Scooby Doo Wave 1 set costing $49.99 and coming with 437 pieces. The four minifigures included are Scooby (sitting down), Shaggy with seaweed-covered shirt, Daphne, Lighthouse Keeper and Swamp Monster. I really like all the minifigures, especially Daphne, Shaggy's torso and the exclusive monsters whose head pieces can be removed to reveal their true identities: Verona Dempsey and Mr Brown. As well as the lighthouse, there is a separate Mystery Speedboat build that measures 13X4X4cm. There is nice colours, stickers and engine detail and there is a place at the back to attach a rope that Shaggy can ski behind. The lighthouse itself looks fantastic it measures an impressive 24X12X25cm. I really like the rock details and the skull has been done really well. However, if you turn a wheel at the back, the skull opens to reveal the scuba equipment the 'monsters' use. To the left of the lighthouse, there is a small lamp and some boards that open to reveal a treasure map. The idea is that you use this to locate the treasure which is in a chest under the building. The treasure included is 2 gems, 2 keys and a silver goblet. The lighthouse itself consists of 2 rooms and a roof area. The bottom room is a kitchen where Shaggy and Scooby can make their sandwich which is included. In here, there is a nice oven and a not-so-nice rat. The second room is a prison with a spider web and spider that can fold down. The top area has a beacon in the form of a fire and some nice printed glass pieces covering it. My only concern about this is that there are little gaps in the glass that doesn't look very good. In conclusion, then, this set is a bit overpriced but I don't feel this matters because it comes with five great minifigures, looks fantastic and has some nice play features. A mostly good set.
