LEGO® Star Wars Rebels The Ghost 75053 Review

This freighter, despite its weight and size, is one manoeuvrable ship and it belongs to the Rebels. The LEGO set comes with 929 pieces, measures 33X27X13cm and costs $89.99. It comes with four minifigures, two of which are exclusive to this set. These are a Stormtrooper, Kanan Jarrus, Hera Syndulla and Zeb Orrelios. All of these look fantastic but I love Hera and Zeb's headpieces. The weapons included are a blaster pistol, blaster rifle, blaster, Kanan's lightsaber and Zeb's bo-rifle. The overall look of the ship itself, to me, is fantastic. It looks exactly like it did in the series only a bit smaller. The front gunner turret is all on a tray that is clipped in and can be slid out to load in a minifigure. On this tray is a seat and a console piece. The cockpit lifts open to reveal a seat for a pilot a joystick and a console. On each side is an escape pod that easily detach from the ship. In each one is a seat and a console but, apart from that, are a bit bare. Underneath the ship is a rotatable turret that doesn't fire but there is a pair of hidden spring-loaded shooters to make up for that. Also, on the underside, there is a switch that, if pulled, releases a storage hatch that has a crate containing a holocron. A hatch behind the cockpit opens up to reveal the living quarters of the ship. However, this is only a representation and there is no where near the space compared to what the ship actuall has, which is a shame. The top gunner area is able to pull out of the ship to allow you to load one of the minifigures. At the back there are 4 engines; 2 large and 2 small that look really good. Finally, there is space at the back to dock the Phantom (a separate review is on the site) and it fits in well. Overall, I really like this set and the functions are really good. I love the way LEGO have used the coloured tiles to represent the ship which I really appreciate. My only concern would be that the escape pods are a bit empty and it could maybe be a bit bigger to allow some living quarter space.
